It was found intact in 1937 on the north slope of the Acropolis. Its foot is ring-shaped, the body ovoid and the neck cylindrical with wide, horizontal rim. A plastic ring runs around the junction of neck and body. The rim is inscribed with the letters ΔΙΚ and impressed and incised geometric motifs (spirals, circles, lines) arranged in bands decorate both the body and neck.

Pithoi were used for storing liquids and solids, such as oil and grain.
